September 29 to October 1, 2017
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada
We are delighted to tell you that registration is now open for the ‘Revolutions’ conference. Please see below for detailed information and instructions.
Registration is a two-step process. First, you need to join the Geopolitical Economy Society (GES) at https://
geopoliticaleconomy.org/my- account/, and then when you are a member, you can register for the conference at https:// geopoliticaleconomy.org/ revolutions-conference-2017/ conference-registration/.
Along with access to conference registration, membership entitles you to other benefits as well. In particular, members are eligible to purchase select books at discounted rates, including those in the Geopolitical Economy book series (https://geopoliticaleconomy.
org/gerg-announces-new-book- series/) and the Future of World Capitalism series (http://www.plutobooks.com/ page/ thefutureofworldcapitalism). We will let you know as soon as this facility is ready; your membership will last until September 1, 2018 so you will not miss out by joining now.
There are three membership rates: full ($100), discounted for low income and third world scholars ($50) and student ($30). We have no institutional funding, so we rely on you to pick the rate that applies to you.
Registration includes two coffee breaks, a full lunch on each of three days, and a reception. There are only two registration rates: early bird (before August 31st, $150) and regular ($200) – so don’t forget!
‘One-day’ registration provides a special rate for folks that are not presenting papers, especially students and residents of Winnipeg. This also entitles you to two coffee breaks and a full lunch as well as the Friday reception. You can register for as many single days as you want. Note that the plenary sessions (the ones with keynote speakers) are open to the public, as will be an opening plenary on Thursday evening. Interested Winnipeg residents may attend conference panels free of charge if they opt to forgo lunch, coffee breaks and other refreshments. Donations from such attendees are welcome and much appreciated.
We are also organising a conference banquet on Saturday night. This will probably cost about $50 for an excellent meal and, we hope, entertainment. More information on this to come.
