EU referendum scandal: Fury as PM blows £10 MILLION of YOUR cash on pro-Brussels leaflets

OUTRAGE erupted today as the Government launched a £9.3million taxpayer-funded leaflet drive urging voters to back staying in the European Union.

Every household in the country will get a copy of the illustrated tract which the Government said answered a public thirst for information ahead of the June 23 referendum.

Campaigners to leave the EU were scathing.

London Mayor and Tory MP Boris Johnson said, apparently before seeing the leaflet that if it was genuinely trying to help people understand the issues there might be a case for it.

“But given it is very likely it will be very biased and hysterical and warning unnecessarily about the risks of leaving the EU, I think it’s a complete waste of money.”
