Southern flank: Turkey continues to assist Georgia’s NATO integration

The logistical capabilities of the Georgian Defense Forces are being further strengthened. The Government of the Republic of Turkey has provided the Georgian Defense Forces with various types of special equipment to improve the logistics and logistics capabilities of the Marneuli Airfield. The official transfer of technical means was held at the Orkhevi transport base of the Logistics Support Command of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. The Minister of Defense of Georgia personally inspected the special equipment on the spot and got acquainted with their technical capabilities. Juansher Burchuladze thanked the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia Fatma Jeren Yazgan for handing over the logistics equipment.

The equipment was transferred within the framework of the “Military Financial Cooperation Agreement” signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Georgia….Georgia and Turkey have been cooperating closely and successfully in the field of defense for many years. The cost of special equipment delivered by Turkey at this stage is $597,722.69.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia Giorgi Khaindrava, the Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces, Brigadier General Joni Tatunashvili, the Commander of the Aviation and Air Defense of the Defense Forces, Colonel Sergo Ninua, the Commander of the Logistics of the Troops Colonel Kakhaber Tabatkutni.
