Hungary in talks for Russian vaccine

Hungary has started negotiations regarding the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines last Friday and Monday over the phone with Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov and Health Minister Mikhail Murashko “with whom we have agreed to maintain ongoing contact to clarify issues related to test results, licensing procedures and widespread health use,” Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó posted Monday on Facebook.

Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission Eric Mamer said on Friday that “there is no question that any vaccine that is or could be made available on the territory of the European Union would have to comply both with the quality standards that are expected for these types of products in the EU and follow the approval procedures that are in course in the European Union.”
