Venezuela’s Interior Minister: US Believes It Can ‘Break Us Through Fear’

The minister for the Interior, Justice, and Peace of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, led on Saturday the swearing-in of the Comprehensive Bolivarian Base Committees (CBBI) of the state of Monagas at a massive demonstration in Maturín, where he highlighted that part of the task of recent times is being fulfilled, after four months of intense threats and psychological terrorism by US imperialism. He warned that the Bolivarian Revolution is not disarmed.

“We are leading a peaceful revolution, but not an unarmed one,” he said. “We are in a scenario of unarmed struggle. The US threatens us because it believes that it can break us through fear, but they do not know us, they do not know what we are made of.”

Similarly, Cabello highlighted the new forms of organization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which have become an important step to “take the leap and move from individual leadership to collective leadership” and, in this way, reach communal organization.

He highlighted that in view of the recent imperialist actions, President Nicolás Maduro called on the nation to prepare to defend itself.

“Anyone who messes with Venezuela should be very clear that it will not be a matter of 48 hours or three days,” Cabello said in his speech.

“If they do not mess with us, perfect, if they mess with us, we will be there,” he warned.

“We have endured four intense months of threats, of psychological terrorism against our people; and the people have risen up in every situation, at every moment, without any kind of fear, without any kind of pessimism, quite the contrary, with an absolute conviction that we are on the right path and that, at the end of all these threats, blockades and sanctions, what awaits us is a new great victory, not only for Venezuela, but a victory for all peoples,” he added.

He noted that with the new party structure promoted by the president, the fundamental lines followed are prolonged active resistance, in which the country does not come to a standstill, and subsequently the permanent offensive—not letting oneself be cornered by anyone, “always moving forward.”

He emphasized that there are a series of tasks for the organization, which is capable of adapting to armed and unarmed warfare and able to adapt to any circumstance.

Grassroots prepared for defense
He praised the active participation of all communities through assemblies and political organizational meetings, adding that Venezuelans have demonstrated “total and absolute conviction” in the face of harassment and external threats.

Cabello stated that the community command has under it an average of six streets, and that it must have permanent and direct communication through its own protocols that must be put into practice.

He noted that over time the methodology will be specified and that a network should have thorough protocols that allow communities to communicate with each other, “where nobody can be isolated.”

“That committee must have each house pre-loaded with a name and surname, and should make our map of who are friends and sympathizers, and who are traitors because traitors do exist. That is one of the tasks that we have to carry out immediately,” he explained.

He asserted that if anyone can create a perfect organization in Venezuela, it is the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
