Turkish F-16 harass Greek helicopter in Evros; low flights at 500ft(video)

A unprecedented Turkish provocation: Turkish F-16 fighter jets not only violated Greek air space in the region of Evros with low flights reaching even 500 ft (200 meters), they also harassed a Greek military helicopter patrolling over the border area to Turkey. It is the first time, Turkey conducts such kind of provocation and violates air space over the land border between the two countries. Turkish fighter jets normally violate Greek airspace over islands in the Aegean Sea.

The violations occurred short before 3 o’ clock Wednesday afternoon.

They flew at an altitude between 500 ft and 10,000 ft, Greek media report.

The Turkish provocation over the land borders, took place just hours after a board of the Turkish Coast Guard crashed on a vessel of the Greek Coast Guard off the island of Kos in the eastern Aegean Sea.
