Greeks demonstrate against participation in the Red Sea conflict

A huge demonstration took place at the Greek island of Salamis, not far from Athens, asking for the Greek government to cancel its decision to send a Greek ship against Houthis to the Red Sea. Houthis are attacking ships sailing to Israel asking for the genocide of Palestinians to be stopped.

Political organizations, social and peace movements, trade unions and students unions have participated to the demonstration with central slogan “Not one Greek soldier outside Greek frontiers” and also slogans of solidarity to the Palestinian people slaughtered by the Jewish neo-nazi state of Israel.

The mission has provoked a lot of dissatisfaction in the ranks of the Greek War Navy. Its officers do not understand why they have to risk their life for the sake of Israel and western imperialism and a number of them resigned refusing to participate to this mission
