British Secret Services attack Jeremy Corbyn

Jeremy Corbyn is a danger to national security who is unfit to become Prime Minister, warns former MI6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove

The former head of MI6 has branded Jeremy Corbyn a danger to national security who is unfit to hold the keys to No 10.

In an extraordinary intervention, Sir Richard Dearlove said the Labour leader would pose a ‘present danger to our country’ if he became Prime Minister and is able to access top-secret documents.

Writing in today’s Mail on Sunday, the former spy chief makes the devastating assertion that Mr Corbyn’s past political activities mean he should never be allowed access to such sensitive classified information.

Sir Richard – who spent 38 years with the intelligence service – warns bluntly: ‘Do not even think of taking the risk of handing this politician the keys to No 10.’

His explosive remarks come as Boris Johnson today unveils a string of policies from the Tory Election manifesto, including a pledge not to raise income tax, VAT or National Insurance for the duration of the next Parliament.

In an exclusive interview with this newspaper, the Prime Minister says that the ‘tax triple lock’ will be a central part of the party’s ‘one nation’ blueprint being launched in the West Midlands this afternoon.

Other Tory policies being set out include an extra £1 billion to extend childcare, a £2 billion fund to tackle potholes and new plans to help more than two million homes become more energy efficient, slashing fuel bills.
