Appeal for the Establishment of the International Union of Contemporary Left-Wing Forces Around the World“ Sovintern — for Socialism in the 21st Century”

We, the signatories of this open call, address all interested political parties, movements, organizations, and other social and political forces from all continents who, in principle, accept this proposal as a basis for further discussion and joint action, 

• and we call on them to join us in the dialogue and in the next steps toward the founding of the International Union of Contemporary Left Forces of the Whole World “SOVINTERN” — For Socialism in the 21st Century!

 The urgent need to build a modern, strong, mass, dynamic, and victorious movement of the Left, globally and in every nation, as well as for the coordination of efforts worldwide and the utilization of shared experience, while maintaining their political, ideological, and organizational independence and autonomy, is becoming critical for Humanity, at a time when: 

• aggressive Western elites are provoking imperialist wars and interventions, promoting neocolonialism and a modern version of fascism, committing acts of genocide, and even risking the destruction of the entire planet and the environment,
• at the same time, the Western model is sinking into decline, recession, deadlock, and the danger of a new sweeping economic crisis, while the collective West’s plan for “global domination” in a unipolar world is failing, with the Global South rising up and mobilizing to demand a more just, polycentric world, 
• the position of workers is constantly deteriorating, and their gains (economic, social, democratic, and human rights) are shrinking, while the level of inequality and the excessive concentration of wealth in the hands of an ever-smaller number of people has reached its highest point in history,
• the future of the younger generation is looking bleak, meaning they will live worse lives than earlier generations.

Sovintern stands for a global socialist initiative that unites progressive social and political forces around the world in the pursuit of universal liberation and social justice, drawing on the lessons of successes and failures, as well as the theoretical foundations and most recent developments of the socialist movement over the past 150 years.

Sovintern is inspired by the values of Soviet culture. 

It aims to shape a new political reality in the world, based on the principles formulated and implemented by Soviet culture, as well as on the lessons drawn from the experience of historical failures, distortions, and even betrayals that occurred over the decades.

The USSR was the first state where socialism triumphed in all aspects. The global socialist system made possible everything from space exploration and the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes to universal free education and healthcare, and opportunities for self-fulfillment for all people regardless of income, ethnicity, religion, or skin color.

Thanks to the peaceful principles of Soviet foreign policy and the deterrent power of the USSR, the planet was spared global military conflict for many decades in the 20th century during the tough times of a bipolar world and the Cold War. 

These principles were subsequently embraced by the overwhelming majority of people, leaders, and nations who managed to resist the aggressive warmongers from Western countries. 

These same principles can be applied today if joint efforts are made: 

PEACE — FRIENDSHIP — INTERNATIONALISM — SOLIDARITY — COOPERATION — COMMON PEACEFUL DEVELOPMENT.

Our goal is to bring together politicians, public figures, civil society activists, as well as representatives of science, culture, sports, and the media from around the world who are ready to work together to revive the achievements of Soviet culture and build a new, just world.

Our goal is to leverage the development and operation of a modern, interactive, and secure online platform for this purpose, which will serve as a permanent forum for left-wing and socialist movements and organizations worldwide in all languages.

The unlimited possibilities of innovative technologies, which ensure the immediacy and speed of information exchange and content delivery, as well as the exchange of views and experiences, will be key to Sovintern’s political effectiveness. The core idea of the project is to create a safe environment where socialists from around the world can interact with one another. 

In this way, a continuous interactive congress or conference could be established— a kind of global movement of “digital Bolsheviks”—that responds to the needs and conditions of the 21st century.
