Zelensky: Will he return to Kiev after visiting Athens?

Nov 15, 2025

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting Greece this Sunday, hosted by PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is very hospitable – in such cases.

He visits a Greece that is currently celebrating because it became, against its own national interests, the “gateway” for the prohibitively expensive and ecologically much more burdensome LNG to Europe, all the way to Ukraine. While it continues to deplete, like Cyprus, its armed forces’ stockpiles and the Aegean defense to help Ukraine continue a war that leads only to its destruction. But those matters are more or less settled. So why does Zelensky need to come to Athens?

And if he will come to Greece, he will then leave, or will he stay? According to the credible journalist and former judge George Napolitano, who cites a reliable source in Eastern Europe, he is considering it. He will remain in Greece, abandoning his faltering power in Kyiv Scott Ritter : Inside Russia’s Mindset: How the Kremlin Sees This War

Of course, rumors about Zelensky’s departure have circulated many times and were ultimately debunked. However, it is a fact on the other hand that the Ukrainian President is perhaps now at the most difficult point of his political journey. His closest associate, accused of colossal corruption, just fled abroad. (The entire Ukrainian government is, moreover, completely corrupt, unreliable, and criminal). Even the tragicomic figure portraying the German Chancellor publicly asked the Ukrainian President to investigate and punish the corruption scandals, something impossible of course because then everyone would have to go to jail!

He also faces problems on the front, where the three best Ukrainian divisions, including an “Azov” one, staffed by men from the neo-Nazi former Azov brigade, have been encircled by Russian forces, at the same time as the Russians are launching devastating strikes across Ukraine’s entire energy infrastructure.

Finally, if we assume that Trump is indeed considering ending the war in Ukraine – something we don’t know for sure is happening – it is obvious that he would have to arrange to remove, one way or another, the current Ukrainian President, who is, after all, also in the crosshairs of various rival factions, and who has linked his name to the war, the defeat, and the worse destruction of his country after WWII.

Anyway, as we said, we do not know if the information about Zelensky is valid. However, what reliable sources inform us about is that the Zelensky visit is also related to the purchase and preparation of a luxurious refuge – a fortress for the Ukrainian President in the southern coast of Attica or near Sounio, at a distance of 20 to 30 minutes from the Athens airport.

Initial options that Zelensky’s people were secretly exploring with the help of PM’ s people in the district of Argolida have been rejected due to distance and security concerns.
