Alfred de Zayas on Zionism, Iran and NATO

We received the following note from Alfred de Zayas, Former UN Independent Expert on the Promotion of a Democratic & Equitable International Order

I just signed your appeal https://www.defenddemocracy.press/fsfurgent-call-to-the-world-public-opinion-stop-the-genocide-against-the-palestinians-stop-the-re-emergence-of-fascism-and-nazism-in-the-middle-east-and-elsewhere/

It is time to acknowledge that the Zionist experiment has failed because it was an anachronism, a colonialist project from the beginning. The UN should assume control over Palestine as a UN Administered territory.

  • The international community can no longer tolerate that a country like Israel violates the UN Charter and international law with impunity. Netanyahu and his cabinet must be arrested and prosecuted.
  • The double-game played by the US with Iran has a fall-out with regard to the Ukraine war.  Considering that the US engaged with Iran in negotiations and at the same time conspired with Israel to attack Iran, it is clear that the US can never be trusted.
  • Deceiving Iran about negotiating a nuclear deal while preparing a military attack against Iran is what is called perfidy in international law.  The lack of good faith by the US is breathtaking.
  • The same bad faith was displayed by Angela Merkel and François Hollande in 2014 and 2015 when they took the Russians for a ride with the Minsk agreements, which Germany and US only saw as a ruse to gain time.
  •  Russia would be reckless if it were to trust any commitments made by the US or NATO countries — even if written in stone.  Once a liar, always a liar. US and NATO are engaged in a frontal attack against international law and morals.
