Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that 11 people were killed in attacks on cities across Isfahan province. Later, the governor of Isfahan stated that at least 20 civilians were killed in Najafabad during the US-Israeli aggression. These strikes targeted both residential areas and civilian facilities.
US, ‘Israel’ kill left and right in attacks on Iran
The United States and “Israel” launched coordinated airstrikes across Iran on February 28, 2026, marking the start of the war on the country. The initial wave of attacks struck multiple targets in Tehran and other cities, including the residence of Iran’s Leader, resulting in his martyrdom, alongside senior commanders and officials.
On the same day, a strike during the wider bombing campaign hit a girls’ elementary school in Minab in southern Iran. Reports said between about 150 and 180 people were killed, many of them schoolchildren, with dozens more injured in what became one of the deadliest attacks in the war.
In the days following the opening attacks, continued US-Israeli bombardment targeted military, political, and infrastructure sites across the country. By March 3, 2026, human rights monitors reported that more than 1,000 civilians had been killed during the first several days of the aggression.
Residential areas, civilian infrastructure struck
Airstrikes continued to hit urban areas, including Tehran and other provinces throughout early March. Reports from the battlefield indicated that residential areas and civilian infrastructure were also struck as bombardments intensified across multiple regions of the country.
By March 7, 2026, the cumulative death toll from the US-Israeli attacks on Iran had risen to at least 1,332 people, according to compiled casualty trackers and media reports. Thousands more people were reported injured as strikes continued across the country.
As the war entered its second week, air raids continued to hit energy facilities and other strategic targets. The ongoing campaign has caused widespread destruction and civilian casualties, with the overall death toll continuing to rise amid sustained US-Israeli military operations.
