The Once in a Century speech of Iran FM Abbas Araghchi

This is the most astonishing speech of our time. It is on the order of the JFK speech at American University and the address by Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie to the League of Nations. It is one of the most eloquent statements any of us is likely to hear.

Please note that there is an AI version, that is probably the same wording, smoothed out. But I prefer the original, with Araghchi’s light Iranian accent and mild irregularities. It’s more genuine.

This is the calm before the storm. I wish the world would follow Araghchi’ advice, but I fear that it will have no more impact than JFK’s or Selassie’s on the course of world events. JFK was assassinated, and Ethiopia was conquered. Araghchi expresses Iranian resolve, and I fear that Trump, in his arrogance, will test it, despite the consequences. Until now, I thought that those consequences would be enough to deter catastrophe. Thus far, they have been, and I have been among the few who predicted that war would be averted. But now I see less opportunity for Trump to back down again while saving face. I hope I am wrong this time.
