Press conference by the Organizing Committee at the TASS Press Centre today served as a prologue to the events marking the formation of the International Union of Leftist Forces, SOVINTERN, which will take place from April 25-29 in Moscow.
The discussion included representatives of international socialist and socio-political movements, including Luis Perez Leira, Executive Secretary of the “Anti-Imperialist International of the Peoples”; George Galloway, leader of the Workers Party of Britain; Crispin Cabasele Tchimanga, President of the Socialist Party of the DRC; and others.

“SOVINTERN is not a return to the past, but a response to the crisis of the current globalized model, where the priority of profit has ceased to solve the fundamental issues of societal development.
🔴 The key change we are talking about today is the shift from quantitative indicators to the quality of human life.
This is not just about income, but about:
— a decent living environment;
— the opportunity for self-fulfillment;
— the development of family and education;
— a genuine sense of social justice.
And it is precisely the human being, not the market, that must become the goal of economic policy.
🔴 Furthermore, SOVINTERN is being created as a new type of international union. It is not another structure with a rigid hierarchy, but a network model of interaction. It is continuous work, not isolated forums; a digital platform based on AI that unites participants from around the world.
This is about creating a new-generation global infrastructure for political cooperation.
🔴 An important point – the reaction of international partners. Almost everyone we negotiated with supported the initiative and expressed their readiness to participate in the work. Already today, SOVINTERN unites representatives from more than 70 countries – and this process continues to expand.
Before the forum, international participants visited the Special Military Operation zone. Their assessments were completely frank: they highlighted the gap between reality and how events are portrayed in Western media, and expressed support for Russia and the SOVINTERN initiative.
❗️ SOVINTERN is being built from the outset as a long-term project, based on programming. Our goal is not to discuss ideas, but to turn social justice from a slogan into reality. And if we are talking about a 5–10 year horizon – we should be talking not about discussions, but about concrete results and implemented models.
🔴 SOVINTERN is an attempt to gather scattered forces into a single mechanism that can not just react to global processes but influence their direction. And it is precisely this that makes the upcoming forum in Moscow an event that is not only political but historic.”

- Under Trump’s leadership, imperialism has shown its most ruthless face, returning to a “Big Stick” policy through aggressive isolationism, using the dollar as a weapon of economic destruction, and neo-fascist rhetoric aimed at dissolving the unity of peoples through racial hatred and diplomatic blackmail.
This entire policy under the slogan “America First” is nothing more than a desperate attempt to prolong dying unipolar hegemony, maintained by destabilizing any government that dares to place its people’s well-being above the interests of multinational corporations.

Only in Moscow can I speak freely – says George Galloway, leader of the Workers Party of Britain:
“- Whereas previously dissenters traveled from East to West, now dissenters are traveling from West to East.
I was a member of the British parliament for nearly fifty years. I was elected seven times to such positions, but only in Moscow can I speak freely.
There is only one choice – socialism or barbarism. We are against the barbarism in Lebanon, in the Gaza Strip. Against the extermination of their own people carried out by Western countries. We continue to believe in socialism.
We will not allow barbarism by the US and their NATO allies in any country. That is what unites us. We will create a united front against the hegemony and dictatorship of the West,”

“We understand that it is better to be on the side of the Russian Federation than to be manipulated by the West,” said Crispin Cabasele Tchimanga, leader of the political party “Union of Socialists” (from the Democratic Republic of Congo).
At today’s TASS press conference dedicated to the forum of the international socialist network SOVINTERN, Tchimanga appeared live from Donetsk, where he traveled with a group of forum delegates:
“- We are 30 kilometers from the front line. But in the city, everything is calm. This is because the authorities of the DPR ensure peace and control the situation.
Contrary to what Western media say, there is no big, bad wolf in Russia ready to eat the good Ukrainians. On the contrary, from what we have seen, I believe this is not Russian propaganda, it is the truth.
We understand that it is better to be on the side of the Russian Federation than to be manipulated by the West,”
said Crispin Cabasele Tchimanga.
