Greek and Irish Personalities condemn the assasination of a Palestinian detainee by the Israeli State

JOINT PRESS COMMUNIQUE

We, Irish and Greeks who suffered under the most unjust out of all the cases of political incarceration, that is, the regime of administrative detention, condemn the Israeli State, and especially the Ministry responsible for prisons and all those officials who connived to allow the fighter Khader Adnan to die under appalling conditions, 45 years old, after 12 times in jail and in all 8 years of administrative detention. After  5 hunger strikes, at the 86th day of his last one.

Khader Adnan died fighting not only for  his own freedom, but for the termination of the state of limitless imprisonment without any judicial proccess, without any charges and trial concerning hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, men, women and even young children.

The Israeli Authorities should not believe they can act as if they are beyond any human law, even the most ancient ones. We are asking for the immediate release of the body of Khader Adnan to his family to be buried and honoured by his loved ones.

We stand along in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners, with all the men, women and children currently experiencing these horrors. We call for the international community to take the most drastic measures resulting in the only possible solution, the termination of any laws allowing people to be held under administrative detention in the State of Israel as well as wherever else in the world.
