Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Friday, May 15, 2026, that India can have a “greater role” in promoting peace in West Asia. He stated that there is no military solution to any Iran-related issue while speaking at a news conference in New Delhi. He said that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz is extremely complex and that Iran is prepared to assist all vessels in passing through it. Araghchi, who is attending a BRICS meeting in New Delhi, stated that a diplomatic resolution to the West Asia conflict is the only viable option.
