Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announces visits to Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, while Tasnim News Agency rejects US media claims about negotiations as “fake.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that he will travel to Pakistan, Oman, and Russia on an official visit, outlining the agenda for these trips, Tasnim News Agency reported on Friday as rumors circulate about potential talks between Tehran and Washington in Islamabad.
The agency added that following this announcement, US media outlets quickly rushed to publish surprising stories presented as “exclusive news” from “informed sources,” particularly scoop related to Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf not accompanying the foreign minister on his trip.
The information was shared by Axios, which Tasnim blasted as “known for fake news”.
The Iranian media outlet said that this type of media coverage is “pure nonsense,” adding that Araghchi himself announced the tour and its details, and it is clear that this is not a visit by an Iranian negotiating delegation, but rather a routine tour by Iran’s foreign minister.
The agency added that when a US media outlet “linked to Mossad” breaks “exclusive information” that Ghalibaf will not accompany him, the situation becomes “extremely ridiculous.”
Araghchi returning Pakistani visit to Tehran, no talks on agenda
Moreover, it noted that CNN claimed that US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are traveling to Islamabad for negotiations with Araghchi. The White House announced today that the envoys are heading to Pakistan for talks on Iran and are expected to arrive on Saturday,
Tasnim rebuked the claims, confirming that there are plans for talks with the US on Iran’s agenda at the moment. Araghchi’s visit is reportedly for talks with the Pakistani team regarding Iran’s position on ending the war.
Iranian professor and negotiator Dr. Mohammad Marandi also confirmed today that no negotiations have been planned in Islamabad thus far. Araghchi’s visit, according to marandi, is only a response to Pakistan’s General Asim Munir’s recent trip to Tehran.
“The Iranian foreign minister will not hold any negotiations with the Trump regime in Islamabad and will merely convey Iran’s considerations and views regarding the end of the war to the Pakistani side. This meeting is a response to General Asim Munir’s trip to Tehran, and I have been informed that no negotiations with any Americans are planned during this visit.”
Misleading US media coverage questioned
Tasnim also highlighted that said that for more than 10 days, US officials and media have been promoting stories about a new round of negotiations and have been publishing several fake reports about the start of talks.
It added that in one of the strangest cases, US media and officials repeated for more than three days that “Vance is on his way to the negotiations,” while Vance never actually arrived at any destination in this regard.
