The title rule applies to any war, whether in Ukraine or Iran or anywhere else, and it applies equally to other things that might be going badly such as the economy, the standard of education, epidemics, etc. But in this case I’m referring to the war in Iran. The facts:
- No, Iran is not running low on missiles and drones. If anything, they are reducing (somewhat) the number of targets left to strike. Their situation is rather like Russia’s, where there’s little prospect of running low on arms, because their production capacity is well protected (in Iran’s case inside mountains or deep underground and in diverse locations).
- When you reduce the reporting of targets that Iran’s missiles and drones are hitting, it can seem like fewer are being hit. Israel applies heavy censorship to such reporting, for example, but Dimona, which houses the denied Israeli nuclear weapons production facilities that everyone knows about, has apparently been heavily hit. So have Tel Aviv and the Nevatim air base, and other military and strategic installations. Iran’s ally, Hezbollah, has also hit strategic facilities in the north, and has advised Israeli civilians to evacuate all territory within five kilometers of the border with Lebanon.
- When you report only a small proportion of your casualties, it may appear that you don’t have many. Why, then, are US military hospitals in Germany having blood drives and canceling or postponing elective surgeries? And is Israel having few casualties despite the videos of missile strikes that have managed to reach Western social media?
These and other examples of Western governmental and media perfidy have been reported in a variety of alternative news sources, but my main one is the following. I suggest you read it.
Iran War Shifts to Cynical Plan ‘B’ After US Fails to Fracture ‘Regime’
