To our friends and readers

The Delphi Initiative and its website, DefendDemocracy.Press, are not a profit-oriented, lucrative organization. It was created in the aftermath of the Greek crisis, out of the realization of a group of questioning intellectuals from around the world who gathered in Delphi (The Delphi Forum, 20-21 June 2015, Delphi, Greece | Defend Democracy Press), that we need a network of discussion and mutual information about the multiple but closely interconnected, social and economic, geopolitical and ecological challenges that we face.

Our site is run by a very small group of people, working on a voluntary basis, often greatly exceeding their objective possibilities, and without any external support, funding, or sponsorship, in order for our newsletter to reach you.

We do this because we want to do it. Because real news and critical analysis are now, more than ever, of vital importance in order to understand the world, to think about it in a critical way and to counter confusion and the “dictatorship of impressions”, which are the main weapons of an ascending totalitarian Empire of the international Financial Capital and the US. We need real news and critical analysis to protect our critical capacity, which is the foundation of our Freedom.

If you read us, you probably need us. But we too need you. This site is not sustainable at its present level of quality, frequency and global – as much as possible – coverage, without your help, including your financial contribution. Much more, it is impossible, at the present level of the very minimal resources at our disposal, to further develop the quality of our work and widen the fields that we try to cover.

We ask for your help because we don’t want to resort to people who could probably help us acquire the minimum of resources we need to go on, but would ask us to compromise on our editorial autonomy in exchange.

If you think this site is useful to you and to people like yourself, then please act now: help us continue to provide you with critical information.

Even a small donation on a permanent, regular basis, while not a huge burden on you, can constitute a huge contribution to our effort. Please help our and your site!

You can do it by using our donate function
