In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
On the third anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood: October 7, 2023, a historic milestone in our continuous struggle project and the title of a glorious national epic; resistance is a legitimate right until the defeat of the occupation and the liberation of our land and holy sites.
On a day like this, October 7, 2023, and on the anniversary of the heroic battle of the Al-Aqsa Flood, all the meanings of heroism, steadfastness and national cohesion were embodied on the land of proud Gaza, and it made the voice of our oppressed people heard by the world, after decades of indifference, alignment and complicity with the policies of the occupation, which sought to liquidate our cause and our inalienable right to self-determination.
On this glorious day in the history of our people, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirms the following:
First: We stand, with all pride and dignity, before the greatness of the Palestinian people, their steadfastness and their sacrifices; this constant and resisting people who stand tall, like an immense mountain, and who, despite all that has struck them, remain proud and determined, yielding nothing of their will for freedom and liberation from the occupation, and who take pride in the strength of their fighters and mujahideen, in their capability and their bravery, in particular the heroes of the Brigades of the martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam and of all the resistance factions, who shattered the myth of the invincible army, strengthened by the embrace of their people and their unshakable right to resist the occupation weighing on our land and our holy sites.
On this blessed day, we salute our great Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank and in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), who have been and remain the rock on which all plans of displacement and genocide are shattered. And the heroic scenes of the inhabitants streaming back and returning immediately to their homes and the rubble of their neighborhoods are conclusive proof of the depth of their rootedness in their land and of their rejection of all projects of dispersal and ethnic cleansing, as well as a decisive message to the occupier and its supporters: the land belongs to its original and honorable owners.
Second: The Al-Aqsa Flood came as a natural response and the culmination of a bitter suffering imposed by the occupation over decades of aggression, suffocating siege, systematic killing and dispossession of rights, in a context of plots aimed at Judaizing our land and our holy sites, at imposing sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and at persecuting our heroic prisoners. The spirit of the Al-Aqsa Flood remains alive in our people and in our Ummah, and is renewed through attachment to the constants and the defense of our legitimate rights. And the attempts of the occupation and its supporters to claim that the battle began on October 7 are a blatant falsification of reality and causality; for the conflict with the enemy did not begin on that day, and its last chapters have not yet been written.
Third: These three years have unveiled the naked truth of this terrorist occupation and its Nazi inclination: it has committed a genocidal war of extermination and appalling massacres in which it poured out its hatred on children, women and civilians, and destroyed the vital infrastructure of the Gaza Strip. Its crimes have caused more than 74,000 martyrs and 175,000 wounded, not counting the tens of thousands of prisoners languishing in the occupation’s jails, and the thousands of missing. These are qualified and documented crimes, not subject to any statute of limitations, which will only increase our people’s determination to wrest their rights.
Fourth: The genocide has not stopped; the occupation has continued it through new methods, to the point that killing, siege and the deprivation of people of the means of living have become what can be described as a “silent extermination.” Since the ceasefire agreement came into force, the occupation has killed nearly 1,500 Palestinians and wounded more than 5,000. At the same time, aggression continues in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and in the West Bank, where the occupation forces carry out incursions, arrests and house demolitions, while attacks by settlers against citizens, their property and their lands intensify, in a context aimed at displacing the sons of our people and imposing colonial facts on the ground.
Fifth: The crimes of the occupation have led to an accelerated erosion of its so-called legitimacy, that of the Zionist entity, and an unprecedented decline in its support, including among its traditional allies in the Western world. And the walkout of delegations from United Nations meetings [during Netanyahu’s speech] is merely a sign of its transformation into a pariah entity and a moral and political burden for the world.
Sixth: We will continue the work of building a unified national struggle strategy, in which all Palestinians take part, as the only way to confront the plans of the fascist occupation government.
Seventh: We salute the intensification of international campaigns to boycott the occupation and its academic, economic and security institutions, and we urge the free people of the world to strengthen this institutional and popular movement, in order to deepen the isolation of the entity and to pursue its leaders before international courts.
Eighth: The Hamas Movement and the Palestinian resistance factions reaffirm their commitment to carry out what is incumbent upon them under the ceasefire agreement, and their concern, in cooperation with the mediators, to make it succeed. While the enemy continues its flagrant violations and its systematic war to tighten the siege and deepen the humanitarian catastrophe against civilians, we hold the American administration and the guarantor mediators responsible for compelling the occupation to fulfill its commitments, as well as for implementing the roadmap that Hamas approved, so as to lead to a comprehensive and total cessation of all forms of aggression, to relief for our people, to the reconstruction of what the occupier has destroyed, and to the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip.
Ninth: We call on the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice to prosecute the perpetrators of the genocide, headed by the war criminal Netanyahu, the terrorist members of his government and his criminal armed gang, and to ensure that they do not escape punishment, in accordance with international law and human justice.
Tenth: Our Arab and Islamic Ummah is our strategic depth and the great support of our cause. We call on it, alongside the free people of the world and the living forces, to mobilize and to activate all tools of pressure, to revive the surging waves of solidarity and the field actions against the war of extermination, displacement and imposed famine, and to support the resilience of our people and their right to freedom and independence.
Eleventh: We affirm that our people are defending their persons, their land, their rights and their holy sites, as well as their legitimate right to resist the occupation by all means, until it disappears and until the establishment of our free, independent and fully sovereign Palestinian State, with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital, so that our people may live a dignified life, without siege, without bombardment, without threat or tutelage.
In conclusion: On the third anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood, we implore mercy for the souls of our virtuous martyrs, and we remember with all pride and dignity the journey of the martyred leaders and their sacrifices: the brother leader and martyr Ismail Haniyeh, the brother leader and martyr Saleh al-Arouri, the brother leader and martyr Yahya Sinwar, the brother leader and martyr Mohammed Deif, and all the martyrs of our people and of our Ummah, whose blood will remain a beacon guiding the road to liberation and return.
Mercy, glory and immortality to the martyrs, a speedy recovery to the wounded and the sick, and near freedom to our heroic prisoners in the jails of the Zionist enemy.
It is a jihad whose outcome can only be victory or martyrdom.
