Hunger striker Aristoteles Hantzis was transferred to Georgios Gennimatas General Hospital shortly after 5:00 p.m. from the Refugee Buildings on Alexandras Avenue, as his health condition has been deemed particularly alarming. After 138 days on hunger strike, his body weight has dropped dramatically to just 36.2 kilograms — a loss of approximately 44% compared to his starting weight.

As he was leaving the Refugee Buildings, Aristoteles Hantzis — who now moves exclusively by wheelchair — sent a message of continued determination to those present, telling the crowd: “We are not backing down. We have a responsibility to win.” He departed flashing a victory sign with his hands.
