One of the most emotionally charged moments of Francesca Albanese’s two-day event in Athens was the screening of the song for Gaza sent by the great Roger Waters. The song was sent especially for Albanese’s discussion event with Yanis Varoufakis, and it is an adaptation of the classic “Comfortably Numb” from Pink Floyd’s The Wall, reworked to reflect the situation Palestine is experiencing today — and has been experiencing for decades.
Roger Waters performs together with the talented Palestinian singer-songwriter Mona Miari, and the song features lyrics in both English and Arabic.
