WHAT IS SOVINTERN AND WHAT DOES IT WANT?
(*Presentation at the founding meeting of the initiative group on the political and ideological framework of Sovintern – Unanimously adopted)
For an effective Workers’ Policy in the 21st century, for the Liberation of Labour and, together with it, all Humanity!
- For a mass, militant, subversive, optimistic and victorious Left, in every society and throughout the world instead of
compromised, defeatist, disappointed, inward-looking, and fragmented marginal left-wing groups detached from real life and history!
WHY SOVINTERN IS AN URGENT NECESSITY TODAY:
At a time when, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union,
- the West’s plan for “global domination” in a unipolar world has failed,
- while at the same time the Western model is sinking into decline, recession, deadlock, and the danger of a new sweeping economic crisis,
- when the Collective West is leading humanity toward War, modern Fascism and the destruction of the environment and the planet to survive its own collapse,
- when the position of workers is deteriorating and their achievements (economic, social, and democratic rights) are shrinking,
- when the future of the younger generation becomes darker, foreshadowing a generation that will live worse than earlier ones.
the absence of a strong, mass, militant and victorious historical current of the Left become critical for Humanity. Most of the existing formations considered Left either compromise with Western elites, like the so-called “social democrats”, or remain marginal, fragmented, defeatist, and disappointed.
Most importantly, the goals of the Liberation of Labour, the transformation of society and
Socialism are receding, even though objective conditions are becoming more favorable, insofar as there is NO political expression and coordination of a new wave of Workers’ Politics, one that will regain optimism, self-confidence and a sense of superiority based on the experience, successes and failures, the theoretical background and the new elaborations of the Socialist movement over the last 150 years.
Sovintern stands for a global socialist initiative that unites healthy social and political forces throughout the world for universal freedom and justice.
WHAT DOES SOVINTERN REPRESENT?
Peace is the supreme value of humanity and the guarantee of development. We stand for peace and against war.
- Resistance to injustice and to the “party of war” that pushes the world toward nuclear destruction through the escalation of conflicts and devastation worldwide.
- Mobilization of all people of good will, regardless of nationality, politics, ideology, or religion, in every country and region to confront warmongering plans.
- Worldwide opposition to the expansionist plans of the aggressive Western elites, their policies of aggression, genocide, etc.
- Defeat of the Collective warmongering West, NATO and criminal Zionism. The main front is against Imperialism.
- Crushing Fascism and racism – Eliminating new-colonialism.
Let the Soviet principles of PEACE — FRIENDSHIP — INTERNATIONALISM —
SOLIDARITY — COOPERATION — COMMON PEACEFUL DEVELOPMENT once again become the Global Spirit in the international environment of the 21st century!
- Today’s conditions for implementing these vital peaceful principles in international relations are more favorable than even during the Soviet era and the Cold War period.
A multi-centric world order is actively emerging, with the Global South and East rising and organizing both globally and regionally (BRICS, SCO, etc.).
The West has shrunk into a declining decadent minority, while new great powers with deterrent capacity (Russia, China, India, Brazil, Iran, etc.) contribute to HALTING plans for war and destruction.
- The Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions, together with the Sixth Technological Wave, are transforming our world and supporting our efforts. New developments in human civilisation could change life and society for the better—provided they do not concentrate power in a few hands or fuel competition and wars! Provided they are not once again subordinated to the Law of capitalist Profit!
For the first time in millennia, it becomes possible to build a just world without violence, wars, and exploitation.
- Collective labour and creation based on the fair distribution of global resources allows equal opportunities for development everywhere. The international solidarity of workers and unification around socialist principles can form the basis for a new global socio-economic framework. Let the plutocracy pay for the coming Great Crisis. Amid the storm, on the ruins of the collapse of the Western financial system, let the new current of social change and a fairer multi-centric world be set up.
- A mass, militant, global movement for the above general goals, linked with the specific and particular goals of each region, country and nation (e.g. Independence, Popular Sovereignty, Freedom and Democracy, abolition of poverty and hunger, and for Europe in particular the overthrow of the warmongering and corrupt European leaderships, etc.) will constitute the ground for the formation of the new global Socialist movement. Through common action and struggle, the new political forms and functions will be consolidated, new leaderships will emerge, and a contemporary, multifaceted, and multi-level radical and revolutionary Left of the 21st century will crystallize.
To whom is Sovintern primarily addressed?
The idea is to begin without exclusions, underestimations or other filters, by attempting to gather and coordinate the existing political forces, movements, organizations, collectives, etc. in every country that proclaim the Defeat of the West and Imperialism and have a socialist/anticapitalist program or orientation.
A SPECIAL TARGET consists of youth and student movements – the solidarity movement for Gaza and Palestine mobilized millions of young people and created new forms and structures of activist action that can become an important infrastructure for the future.
Today’s Left is highly fragmented, but there are no criteria or filters for the first General Call.
ALL those who agree with the Declaration may participate while maintaining the independence and autonomy of their own particular views.
The next steps are a Founding Congress of the new International “Sovintern” in the first half of 2026, the establishment of coordinating bodies and mechanisms and,
above all,
the development and operation of an online interactive secure platform that will function as a “Permanent Congress” of socialist movements and organizations across the world and in all languages. The immense possibilities of innovative technologies, with the immediacy and speed of transmitting information and content and exchanging views and experiences, will be the key to Sovintern’s political effectiveness.

- Russophobia / Sinophobia / Islamophobia
- Racism / xenophobia
- “Equal distances”
The ambition of Sovintern is to create the “Communist Manifesto of the 21st Century”, not as the work of some new Marx and Engels, but as the collective work of millions of militants!
A new “Communist Manifesto” that, in order to meet the new challenges and demands imposed by the rapid and accelerating changes of conditions, must be not only collective but ALSO interactive AND “living”!
A new “Communist Manifesto” that will NO longer be a “bible of quotations” but will condense TOGETHER with the brilliant ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Luxemburg, Trotsky, Gramsci, Mao, Fidel, Che, Ho Chi Minh and hundreds of other leaders and theorists ALSO their failures and mistakes, BUT ALSO the soul, experience and understanding—through triumphs and disappointments—of millions of militants over the 180 years since the first “Communist Manifesto”, during the period of the “youth of the Revolution”.
